I want to label the top surface of slabs with the z-value.
And so if I move the element, or change height of top surface, the figure would change.
Preferably as a text field so I can ad text before and after.
Ideas anyone?
it should work with text field associated to the element, holding cells are also good for this too...I think this is more of a gis function, or labels (CE) perhaps geometric design or Dim driven design contraints etc... I think in acad it would be a dynamic block ...

Looking at it again I see that Slabs do have 'top of slab' in Field properties!
But Slab Form, Wall, Slab Solid etc don't.
I can create a flat shape etc and put it in a Named Group with 'active' members together with text field and move it to top of element.
But it would have been nice to just snap to a point of a element and have the figure move with that point..

I think that you're comparing DGN primitives (slab) with AECOsim cells (slab form, slab solid)? If that's the case, then hassle the AECOsim developers to publish their form values as EC parameters so that you can use them in a text field.
One way to hassle the developers is to add your suggestion to the Ideas Forum.

Yes I use ABD. And v8i - perhaps it is fixed in CE.
But I'd rather have it to a snapped point on the element as it may be of wider use.
But I'll write about EC parameters. I think Chris Z needs that to use it in InfoSnap also.
