This version seems slower than previous versions when to access the back stage or recent files. Perhaps a 1-2 sec delay. This should be instantaneous!!

That's fine but it doesn't speed up things.
Further to Dan's comments above, we have made some changes in Update 10 to improve the performance of the Backstage and are working on others for future updates.
