i have a situation (as mentioned in a post below) where my border references have somehow moved many, many miles away from the correct location. Moving them back requires doing a Fit All, which shows me two tiny, tiny dots (my sheet and my border), then I have to window in several times to be able to see enough of my border to pick it up and move it.
This would be much easier of there was a command to Fit View to a specific reference. I've never heard of it, never thought about it until now, but Boy, that would be useful!!!
Is there such a command?
If not, I'm taking this over to Ideas.Thank you.MaryB
reference fit <logical name of ref>;selview 1 works for me. Actual reference name works also. If there are spaces in the name you must enclose the file name in quotes for it to work
Microstation CONNECT 10.17.00.209
ORD CONNECT 2021 R1 10.10.1.3
Microstation v8i SS 10 08.11.09.919
Power InRoads v8i 08.11.09.615
ProjectWise 10.0.3.453
Try the key in fit reference "logical name"
I had thought it once worked with the Fit Reference tool if the reference dialog was open and a particular reference was selected but that doesn't seem to be the case.

yep
Hi Mary,
I'm using the same version of MicroStation as you, SS4, 08.11.09.829. So this should work. Am correct that when you say "Fit View" you mean the tool on the View Toolbox?
So you pick that and then you get this box:
Where it says "All", that is a pick list, click on the little down arrow:
to show the options:
Pick Reference
And give a data point in the view window that you want to use.
Oh, I guess I should have started with set your reference files to display only the one file that you want to fit the view to.
Do that first.
HTH,

Brian L.
Good to read it works for you to.
Spaces in names ..... their a bother sometimes.
Andre
It does work if I put the logical name in quotes (which I wasn't doing before). Thank you. That helps a great deal.
