How do I add MicroStation SS4 to CONNECT Configuration Explorer?

The CONNECT Configuration Explorer is not meant to process both CONNECT and V8i products.

You can have multiple versions of the configuration explorer but have to make sure you are using the appropriate version to process a V8i Workspace or a CONNECT Configuration.

Why isn't the latest version clever enough to be able to process any configurations?

Simple, Bentley doesn't want to support V8i anymore.
