Is there a way to preset a particular directory when using the 'add link to element' tool?
I would like to create via a key-in or simple macro a way to open a specific directory to select a file to link to an element.
This command / macro would be called from a function key or custom tool box. (press F4 for attaching a hydrant detail, F3 for a valve etc.)
We store pdf/tiff/dgn detail drawing files for different features in different folders so a quick way to get to a specific folder for hydrants, valves easements etc.. would make this procedure much more efficient.
Thanks
Thad
Have your tried or are you using Project Explorer ? ( Rather than trying to develop keyins / Function Keys to specific content )
Project Explore allows you to navigate to predefined folders ( Hydrant/Valve... ), which can then be expanded to show the content within. Right clicking on the required element to be linked, gives the option 'Add Link To Element '.
More on Project Explorer can be found in the help, there is also learn material such as https://learn.bentley.com/app/Public/ViewLearningPathWithMasterCourseExpanded?lpId=106833&mcId=101121
See also this thread for some keyins https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/f/microstation-forum/94160/elemenet-create-link-keyin
