Using the label tool to place labels calling off space info (room names, numbers areas etc)
The cell I have created has 3 separate text elements, each on different levels for different displays and drawings, however, when placing the label does not honour these levels, instead placing all elements on the same (active) levels. Is there anyway to get the label to honour the original levels?

Of which MicroStation version?

Hi Jon,
This is for Connect, currently on U99
Enhancement # 314660 appears to be approved for a future release of MicroStation CONNECT Edition. For updates to this you could log a Service Request which can be linked to this enhancement.

Hello Andrew,
Again more than two years since your last message about this.
Any idea when this enhancement will be implemented? it was filed about 5 years ago....
Thanks,
Luc Dierick
In V8i a cell with objects on Level A when placed in the active file will end up on the active level, Level B but if in cell placement tool we turn on "Relative" it lands on the level that the cell object was created on ie Level A.. not sure if it works on multilevels but I don't see why not... and I don't see why the functionality isn't the same CE ( I have not tested this as I don't have CE yet).

Create a new Service Request with Bentley Systems and, in the flurry of inconsequential e-mails that follow, ask to be linked to Enhancement # 314660.
It doesn't mean anything happens faster, but it is a formal route to Bentley Systems to show your involvement. The more people register their interest, the harder it becomes for Bentley Systems to ignore your need.
It appears that our software development team has approved it for investigation into whether this Enhancement would be included in a future release of MicroStation.
Andrew,
I am asking for a clear timeline. This is no answer - and the same as more than two years ago.
with tags that was(is) easy. The item/label concept is no (not jet by far a) practical alternative.
Tags reporting was way too clumsy, OK. Item reporting is great.
But try to simply put a label into a cell to place it straight with the symbol. I gave up on this.

Take a look at the labelling we provide with our TagWorks family...
Labels are formed from a DGN cell that contain SmartText placeholders for Item Type properties and/or element properties. When something changes (e.g. you modify a shape element) the labels update automatically.
Thanks Jon, what i am looking for is a cell with a label placed simply from a cell lib. Like tags that i then can move to the other side. I have a number of values that often should keep the default. I do not like the extra labeling step. The change of values like the numbering nearly always is a task for the further iteration/revision in the workflow of a floor plan . I like the reporting of items as much as i loathe the clumsy reporting of tags though....

I think that's worth a new post on this Forum. Please describe what you want to see in the cell model, and what you expect to see once that cell is placed in a DGN model.
A cell definition can include text elements that have text fields that reflect the value of a property. The property can belong to the DGN file, model or cell once it's placed in a model.
My understanding is that the behaviour of Item Types in a cell model should mimic that of Tags in a cell model. See the comment by Marco Salino in this Idea.
