Mstn CE U10 ETA?

One of users' biggest complaints about MicroStation CONNECT has been performance.  One hopes that Bentley Systems have put a lot of effort into improving MicroStation CONNECT's speed.   That is explicitly mentioned in help.  Putting work into that will have diverted resources from new feature development.

An unwelcome diversion for development was no doubt the Windows 10 April 2018 update.  That had the effect of breaking existing code.  It would have required a lot of investigation by Bentley Systems to ensure that whatever Microsoft put in place to fix the problems Microsoft introduced would be resolved in Update 10.

As Tom Chmielenski has posted, Microsoft may issue a solution in late July 2018.

Yea.. hopefully some of the new toys will be out in U11.

My theory is that the platform team is probably too tied down by the verticals like ABD who are looking to use some of the features published previously... to push through too many new features.

Connectors: I was curious to see how this would work. Must be quite impressive since Bentley bothered to pay for a patent application.

I see some notes about improvements of performance in the U10 online help:

• Reduced time to switch to the backstage (File tab) from the working area
• Optimized MicroStation loading with a large number of WorkSets and multiple references from mapped network drives
• Improved performance on the Properties Dialog, when it is open while selecting a cell from the cell library that resides on a network drive

That looks promising...

MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 10 version 10.10.00.23 has been released and you can find it on Fulfillment Center and as an update through the CONNECTION Client.

yes to all. not saying perfect yet, but a vast improvement for me. well done Bentley, finally
