Quick question from Product Management of Web Feature Service (WFS), which is essentially has similar functionality to WMS but with simple vectors instead of rasters.
How many of you would like to see this in MicroStation? It is currently in Bentley Map.
Samir Haque said:AFA, WMTS (WMS-T) it is probably going to be available as a Limited Access feature in Update 11.
that's great news and I am sure it will pleased a lot of users ;-)

Also we need proper WMS 1.3.0 support. To this date is is only mentioned in documentation but no Bentley product actually is using it. Even Geo Web Publisher mentions that it can use 1.3.0 but it doesn't work in reality.
Connecting WFS within microstation is very useful and desirable. Consider using the web services from PDOK
Support for new formats is always good. As Jan said, the INSPIRE directive in eu uses WFS extensivley.
You could arguee if this feature belong in MicroStation, BM or both. Personally I think Bentley should put a lot more resources into making BM a decent GIS software. Bentley should have rewritten BM completely when they made the move to CONNECT since a CONNECT port is a rewrite anyway. I think BM more of a development platform than an easy to use GIS software.

WFS as a standard reference in MicroStation would be a great benefit to our DOT. We have a lot of information in our GIS and having the ability to view it in MicroStation without Map would make the information more accessible to more users.
