Selecting multi-line based on width

Hi.

I have many different categories & sub categories of multi-line, but some are mixed in level & attributes.

My question: Is there any way to select them based on a specific width, so I can keep them on the correct level or category?

Thanks,

  • how dd you make curved or arcs with multiline...?

multilines can be created as styles and each one can have a different name have you tried that?

I use different levels for each type as well have you checked level overrides are not on or not used?

  • By placing curves or B-spline then drop it to Line String.

After that you need a macro or mdl to convert the Line String to Multi-line.

Iam using 2 macros you can search google (chgmline + chgline)

  • can you provide links to these or post copies, I haven't  been able to find even with google anything that  converts an arc to a true multiline

I have a one for envision cad that just uses many facets or small straights to approximate curved multiline which on big scale maps is ok  but not for creating roads etc without using inroads.... but to have a real multiline converted from an arc or radius would be awesome for piping ...

I have seen other macros that just copy offset  by defined distances in both directions either side of a line  and put onto defined level and color etc these definitions are in a text file the macro selects from.. but it doesnt create a true multiline.. unfortunately those macros are proprietry so I can not share or use them if I work for another company...

  • There is 2 macros:

1- chgmlines.bas to change line string to multiline.

2- chglines.bas to change multiline to line string

    chgmlines.zip

  • Thanks but will it work with arcs too, your  post you mention you drop curves to strings...

The one from rod wing at envision cad does both in one step from lines to multilines  without the dropping  it multifacets so looks close enough for big picture arcs
