How do I convert these into one solid?

I have a Smart Solid, four Smart Surfaces, and a Feature Solid. How can I convert these into one solid? Please see the attached image.

  • Hi Marco, I converted the Smart Surfaces to Smart Solids but I'm not able to perform a Boolean or at least I'm not able to figure out how to do it.

Backing up one or two steps. What would be the best way to join the Smart Solid on top to Feature Solid on the bottom? I used the "Loft Surface by Vertices" command (A-2 under the Surface Modeling task). Is that the correct way to join them?

I would much prefer to use Connect but my company has not updated our software yet. They are usually 4 to 5 years behind. Very frustrating for me as I like to use the latest and greatest. Is this something that could be done in Connect?

    Thanks, Eric

  • Eric,

    Try the following:

    1. Stitch the red and blue Smart Surfaces together.
    2. Convert the resulting Smart Surface to a Smart Solid.
    3. Use Modify Solid Entity to extrude the top and bottom faces of this new Smart Solid the appropriate distances.

    Here's a video example.
