Hi,
I'm using OpenRoads Designer version 3 software. That has MicroStation connect with it.
I'm using "dimension element" tool and label line for length/angle. The settings I changed to bearing and dd.mm.ss. I have done save settings.
But, still the label callout show dd.dddd
Am i missing anything here with the new edition of software?
Suggestions please!
The Setting can be found in the Dimension Style as Lorys points out. See https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/w/microstation__wiki/16130/how-to-remove-bearings-from-the-dimension-line-labels for the switch. Also expand the Element Dimensioning Tool Settings to see options.
Yes, I did the dim styles settings.
The options for drop down are specific to where/how one wants to place the length/angle.
Northing Easting still not coming!
Thank you,
Abhiram
Does changing the design file settings for Angle Readout help ? ( File > Settings > File > Design File Settings )
Direction Mode : Bearing
see also https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/w/microstation__wiki/16959/how-to-enter-distance-and-bearing-angles-in-microstation
I have these settings. But, no luck!
I had a con-call with support, and it was working fine on their machine, which was update 4.
Is it by any chance related to update 3?
Im using V8i ss3 and have done as instructed but its a design file setting and a dim style setting as well and it works here is picture of it working and how works perfect as shown!

It does works good in ss3/4. But not in ORD v3. Support has confirmed this as a defect. But since v4 is out there, it is fixed in that.
I cannot move to v4, that is a whole big story. If anyone knows about shifting from 1 version to another on live projects with ProjectWise managed workspaces and various sub consultants involved, please ping me. I wish to know it better.
unfortunately for you your stuck.. you will need to just use azimuth set to decimal, or Bearing for Deg min sec then create an excel calculator to give you the real bearing based on the quadrant calculation and edit the cad value from copying the calculator value but if your really clever create a vba macro that does all the calcs and labels the line properly... for now IMHO excel looks pretty easy...would be nice if Bentley would create the VBA for all the ord3 users but I cant see that happening since they fixed it in ord v4
Two alternative not going to like them .. get one install of ORD 4 create a file called labels and xref your ord3.dgn and do all your labels
then in ord3 ref the ord4 file and copy thru or xref the line labels ... or open in V8iss3 or 4 and do all the labels as I described how in previous post with screen shots
