Does anyone know how to enable the setting highlighted below - I cannot get this to show on my current configuration.
Could it be that you are talking about Update 10 as this operation was removed due to performance issues.

Hi Stephen,
As Andrew Bell already mentioned this functionality was removed due to performances issues.
This option is now hidden by Default in update 10 but You can set a configuration variable to enable model picker to be shown back if you did not experience any performances issues.
Maria. Might be useful to know the name of the variable?
Hi Duncan, Stephen,
I have sent you both a private message.
I got confirmation from PM that configuration variable can be disclosed as they have already mentioned in this Blog
https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/b/microstation_blog/posts/new-in-microstation-connect-edition-update-10---performance-enhancement-model-drop-down-picker
Be aware that if configuration Variable (MS_STARTSCREEN_SHOWMODELPICKER) is set back to 1, there could be a performance hit.

Are MicroStation configuration variables now a secret — available to only those who need to know?

This is an interesting issue.... I also have a secret var, but I cannot tell you what it does, unless you have 007 clearance
James Bond
I could have told you but then I couldn't have let you live :) Bit daft really as the variable in question is described in the Connect help file if you know where to look. Nudge, Nudge, Wink, Wink.
Blog about this in here and some talk about this here.
I'm sure anybody can find the variable.
José
Thankyou All!
