Paste drawing objects into Excel

Question

Hi 
 I want to copy and paste Microstation drawing objects into Microsoft Excel, as a "Picture (Enhanced Metafile)". 
 What I do is copy drawing objects and go into Excel, Paste Special as "Picture (Enhanced Metafile)". The problem is that it's not pasting as expected. It should (1) Paste as a vector image and not lose detail regardless of size in Excel, and (2) it should have a clear background. 
 What happens is that a raster image is pasted on a black background. 
 The equivalent, when done in AutoCAD works. 
 Is there a setting in Microstation V8i which enables me to to this.

what about temporarily change background to white and use the snipping tool from windows and paste to / from clip board to excel then you don't have to create any temp files or print to file formats... as you just want to use it now straight to excel from clipboard.. 
 you should be able to work a keyin to change the background temp to white and back to black but for me its just as quick from prefs

Please try this: 
 1) From the dgn file , set view of the desired elements 
 2) Key in :oleserve viewcopy. Then select View by data click. 
 3) open Microsoft Excel program , right click and Paste special, > Paste >MicroStation View Object

Please open MicroStation with Administration rights. go to Start > MicroStation > Run as administrator
