snap to text functionality using nearest snap no longer available.
this has reduced the functionality of snapping to text.
Cheers
Hi,
the problem is caused by snap divisor value. Because it's set to 1, text is snapped only at the bounding box corners.
Change snap divisor to 2 (key-in is ky=2) and it will return back the snap in the text middle points.

Hi Jan,
Thanks for that. It still does not snap to center, center. i have to use center snap to achieve that and that has reduced functionality in my opinion.
Is this problem going to be fixed and are you aware of a toolbox that has the snap divisior in it rather than having to key iy in?

Yes, it's right unfortunately. I guess it should be reported as defect.

Another solution is to define and use multisnap, thay are designed exactly for these situations.

I am not Bentley, so I am not able to answer such question. But in general the problem has to be logged at first and because obody from Bentley has done it yet, I recommend to create Service Ticket (and to mentioned this discussion in the ticket).

I prefer to use key-ins (and shortcuts) personally, they are nearly always faster than any icons, but that's subjective. You can use AccuDraw shortcut "K" that opens Keypoint Snap Divisor dialog.
Is there any reason why the divisor is set to 1? Probably all users I know leave use default value 2, because it's handy to snap to ends and midpoint.
With regards,

Thanks Jan,
Thanks for the MultiSnap tip its something ive never used.
I prefer it set to 1 so when tracing linework im assured iam snapping to end points and not the mid point to avoid unnecessary vertices when dimensioning an element.

I agree, in such workflow it makes sense to set the divisor to 1.
It still snaps to center/center if you placed the text with that alignment. Otherwise you have to select Accudraw center pick.
But you're right, in V8i SS4 you could pick center/center no matter what text alignment.
I've also noticed snap to text acts different than it did in v8i. Adjusting. I have trouble with accusnap always grabbing text elements in a "sticky" fashion, it's hard to get it to cycle thru to a nearby line or shape.
