Hi,
When creating a report on elements you can access the origin as a property. This value is, however, handled as a string in the format "XXXm, YYY,m ZZZm". Is it possible access the separate X, Y and Z values in the same way you can do for text fields?
This would make reports an excellent way to export coordinates and text values or cells to csv or Excel.
XYZ Text will just export the coordinates, Not any additional values.

Here's what you get when exporting, say, cells with the origin of each cell to a CSV file …
Cell Name,Origin AreaLabel2,"-10.181m, 14.342m" AreaLabel1,"-15.938m, 17.298m" AreaLabel1,"-18.460m, 17.298m" AreaLabel1,"-20.707m, 17.298m" AreaLabel2,"-10.181m, 12.142m" AreaLabel2,"-10.181m, 9.838m" AreaLabel1,"-3.769m, 12.724m" AreaLabel1,"0.487m, 23.705m" AreaLabel1,"5.054m, 26.901m"
It's a simple matter to edit that to take out the quotes and units around the coordinates …
Cell Name,Origin X, Origin Y AreaLabel2,-10.181, 14.342 AreaLabel1,-15.938, 17.298 AreaLabel1,-18.460, 17.298 AreaLabel1,-20.707, 17.298 AreaLabel2,-10.181, 12.142 AreaLabel2,-10.181, 9.838 AreaLabel1,-3.769, 12.724 AreaLabel1,0.487, 23.705 AreaLabel1,5.054, 26.901
But I agree: it's a pain to have to perform that edit when the coordinates are already available!

I know. I showed that solution to the customer but they asked for something more straigth forward.

What exact type of elements are the reports run. as an example I'll assume that its a cell, as it has an origin property.
Start by creating a column for the origin. Select that and use the copy to clipboard tool and create 2 copies.
Fore each column right click on the column name and Add Formatting.
This will add properties when the column name is selected
Repeat for Y and Z.
Last add a column for the cell name.
The final result should look as follows:

Cells and text elements, to cite two cases. The XYZ Text tool is broken in CONNECT, so Reports provides a superior work-around.
With the help of your comments, I've created an XYZ Text Report. The article links to a ZIP file that contains the DGN file, with data and Report definition, to create a text coordinate report...
And remember to set Label Format to get rid of the label. Otherwise Excel will treat the value as text.

Thanks for pointing that out! I've edited the article to include your comment. I also show how to adjust the decimal precision, which @stuartw would like.
