Pan Feature in Microstation 10

When I was running v8i, I could hold down the data button on my mouse and the shift key and I could pan across the screen.  It appears that this feature is not used in 10.  Is there any way to change the settings to be able to easily pan?

  • I found the same thing. The default mouse button assignment file with CE 10 does not define the Shift+Data button.

I had to edit the button assignment file to add that feature back in.

You can create your own button menu file and have it used as a seed file.

    1. Make the changes you want to your mouse button assignments.
    2. Save the file
    3. Copy it to a network location
    4. Update the value of MS_BUTTONMENUSEED variable to point to your copied button menu file.

Any time a user runs MicroStation CE for the first time, or your preferences are reset, the file pointed to by MS_BUTTONMENUSEED will be used as the default mouse button file.
