Hi,
How to drop 3D LineStyle into components? I have tried "key-in DROP LINESTYLE " but MSTN shows "Element not valid for tool"
My MSTN version: Connected Ecition Update 10
Thanks

Not sure whether this might be of assistance from this AskInga article.

What will it not do
Custom linestyles do not like curves although some work with a degree of satisfaction. (Dropping the linestyle can produce erratic results.) How do you work around these limitations?
The Drop Linestyle tool will drop a custom linestyle into its individual elements. That is, cylinders, slabs, lines and so forth. The work flow that I have adopted is to model in 3D and when the drawing is to be extracted, I save it as a Drawing Extraction Model. I choose all the elements in the file and drop the custom linestyles. This ensures that hidden line removal will work and following this procedure is a small price to pay for the convience of 3D custom linestyles.

Thanks !
But with the same tool, the Customized 3D lineStyle could be dropped into components in Aecosim buinding designer.
so I thinks it is a bug. not only for MSTN Update 10, but also for OpenRoads Designer Update 5
in addition, why the Customized 3D lineStyle will be dropped? because the models including 3D linestyle have to be exported into mesh.
Hope bentley develop team can fix this issue!
Yep, there is a defect number for this. This will affect all products based on Microstation CE, like ORD.
In the meantime, drop the linestyle in v8i. It will work fine.

Mark

This looks like it's fixed in Microstation CE Update 13, so hopefully will make it into ORD 2019 R3.
