Hi,
I have created a pipe bend using flexi pipe in Aecosim(connect) but when I view that in plan or sections in drawings (microstation v8i) this doesn't come up with a smooth display. Is there any settings/ variable i should be mindful of to get a smooth display. Advice hugely appreciated. Many thanks Boney

What version (e.g. v10.x.y.z) of MicroStation, or other product, are you using?
Your question says MicroStation CONNECT, but your tag says MicroStation V8i.

Thanks Jon
I use Aecosim version 10.01.00.36 for modelling and
Microstations version 08.11.09.397 for drawing ( agree that this is a bit out of date)
Thanks
Boney

Which is giving you the problem with smooth display? For example, if the pipe bend displays correctly in CONNECT, does it display incorrectly in V8i (or vice versa)?
In both cases no smooth display
Hi Boney,
can you check what element type is the pipe you created in AECOsim BD? It should be displayed both in Element Information dialog (Ctrl+I) and in old information dialog (key-in "analyze element"). I guess it will be something like type 106.
Maybe you created element type not know well enough to MicroStation V8. And to know the element type it can help somebody from Bentley to provide a proper advice.
With regards,
Jan

Hi Jan,
Thanks. This is created using pipes under 'Mechanical'. Catalogue type is 'FlexPipe'

We don't want the AECOSim description, because that doesn't tell us why the pipe bend doesn't display in plain old MicroStation.
Please use the Element Information tool and/or the Analyze Element tool as Jan requestion to tell us the MicroStation element type of that pipe bend. For example, a cell header is type 2, a shape element is type 6.
I would suggest that if this doesn't do what you want in AECOsim it's certainly not going to do it in V8i. Suggest if you haven't already, that you post this in the AECOsim group and get it working in AECOsim first before tackling V8i. I'm also wondering if you have AECOsim why you are using V8i as you have all the same tools (and far more) available to you in AECOsim.
Oh Sorry Jon/Jan,
It is a 'Cell Header (2)'
View style applied in microstation is Hidden lines. I have attached a similar model here.
I might be missing some trick somewhere
