Hi,
I have a Windows 7 64 bit computer with Microstation V8i (SS3), with the Bentley License Adapter. On the same computer I had Microstation Connect Update 10 (with the License Adapter). I just upgraded that to Microstation Connect Update 11. After the upgrade, Bentley Connect Advisor (10.0.1.103) opens a toolbox (small dialog with one button to open the main Bentley Connect Advisor program) every time I open Microstation V8i (SS3). In the Advisor preferences there is an option to "Launch Connect Advisor on startup". That was off, I turned it on, saved my preference, closed the Advisor, opened the Advisor, turned it back off, saved my preference and restarted Microstation V8i (SS3). The Advisor toolbox continues to appear.
How to I prevent the Bentley Connect Advisor toolbox from coming up every time I open Microstation V8i (SS3)?
--Thanks,--Robert Arnold
The Advisor toolbox is the start point to get to the following Connect Advisor dialog.
Advisor toolbox can be docked to the top.
What if we just don't want to see it at all? Are we going to have to close it every single time?

I just realized that I may have customized a folder location. I think that the default folder location for Windows 7 would be at:C:\ProgramData\Bentley\MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries)\WorkSpace\System\GUI\CONNECTAdvisor.dgnlib

It looks to me like "too final" solution. To rename it e.g. to CONNECTAdvisor.dgnlib.donotuse should work also, because all dgnlib libraries are usually set to *.dgnlib filter, so such name will be ignored, and the original file is not lost.

Another option is to take a empty dgn file, name it CONNECTAdvisor.dgnlib, put it in the correct folder & set it to "Read Only". That way you don't have to continue deleting or renaming this file after every Advisor update.

Hi All
A lot of my clients do not have access to their C drive, thus having to go around hundreds of PCs and either remove or replace this file is not a solution. There needs to be some trigger/switch/variable etc that stops it from appearing.
OK you can go into the preferences of Connect Advisor and set it to not display etc, but we still get the small dialog for it pop up.
Agreed. When updating Microstation Connect, I did not have a choice about installing the Advisor. When the Microstation updater installed the Advisor, I had no choice of which products were affected. There is no reason that V8i should be affected by a Connect update.
Please give an option to opt-out of either the Advisor, or opt-out of having it installed in V8i.
