I'm rotating and moving over a large distance and I want to position the package closely,
but the centre of rotation happens to be inside a great heap of other stuff, which the software
takes great delight in finding and snapping the rotation point theretp - is there a way i can,
for the duration of this one rotation command only, stop all that, letting me smoothly place
the package just (near) where I want it....no helpful jerky suggestions..
thanks
Jim
My first thought was to use a multisnap with no snaps checked but it seems to default to nearest even if that isn't selected. Only other way I can think of is to reference the other stuff then you can turn snapping off in the reference options.
What version (e.g. v10.x.y.z) of MicroStation, or other product, are you using?

Open another view window and zoom in on the area where you want to place the package. While the move command is active, move your cursor into that zoomed-in view.

When I come across such a situation I usually switch off all levels that I don't need to see during that operation and then perform the action. Afterwards I turn the levels on again.
Good idea. I seem to spend most of my time these days with just one window but that would be the simplest solution.
Couple of things you can do.#1 Isolate the elements that are needed, making everything else invisible.#2 Toggle Accusnap when Accudraw is running.======================#1 Isolate/Display SetThis makes only visible what was selected, making the cluttered view more clear. For this to work Display Set must be active in each view you want to use thius for (CTRL + B).-Select only the elements you want to display, regardless wether they are in references.-SHIFT + Left Mouse Button.-In the menu that appears click Display Set > Set.Everything that was not selected is now turned invisible temporarily. They do not need to stay selected for this to work, so you can deselect savely. To make visible: SHIFT+LMB > Display Set > Clear#2 Toggle AccusnapAccudraw has a command to turn on/off Accusnap-When accudraw has focus, type HS to toggle accusnap off.-To return previous state, repeat HS to toggle accusnap back on.
======================It helps if you give some additional information on the software you're running. Like wich version, since there are some major changes between them.I hope we've provided you with the right tips here.
Good luck Draftsman Two.
