Hi all,
I have cut a section through a 3d model. I would like to set different depths of view along the cut line. is this possible?
Thanks
In addition to John's suggestion, another couple of methods that may be of help
1. Divide the cut line into several clip volumes and reference these into the same sheet, reposition to align boundaries. Then adjust the depth of each as required. In the following example the middle clip volume depth is reduced so the red cylinder is not displayed.
2. Create a step (right click on section line) in the cut line rather than adjusting the depth.
3. Reference the 3D model into an empty file, clip mask the reference areas not required, before creating section.

Good afternoon Carl,
I would like to use your solution no. 1, could you possibly tell me if there is a way to create a single sheet/model file from multiple sections in microstation V8i? From my understanding I would have to create multiple sections (meaning multiple sheet files) and reference them into one? Or is there any simpler, quicker and more efficient way of doing it?
Kind Regards.
Using method 1 in v8i agreed you can create multiple sections ( Multiple Sheets Models ) or create multiple Drawing Models and reference these together in a single Sheet Model. Alternatively create a Sheet Model and attach the Saved Views (created for each section) as references.
