Sorry if this is in the wrong section. I have not used this forum in quite some time, and the interface has changed to the point that I can't figure out where to post general MicroStation questions.
Here is the problem - which I have had for quite some time. When using Microstation V 8.11.09.608 on a Windows 10 machine. The View Toolbox appears, then after sing the program for a little while the tools disappear. If I close the view window, and re-open it, the View Toolbox reappears. I can't tell if this is a graphics card issue, a Mstation setting, or a windows bug? I don't have this problem in any other program, but then again, I can't think of another program that has this feature?
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks.
I'm not sure if you can see this, I Here is the sequence. I have my file open - with view 1 on top of view 2. If I switch to View 2, then back to View 1 - all the "view controls" are gone, and there is a black bar on the window where the controls would have been.
This screen shot is right after I pulled view 1 back on top of view 2.
Your tool bars look super small are you running on a 2K or a 4K display? (over 1900x1200 resolution) v8i hates higher resolution monitors tho i've managed to make it work but some icons turn black like that. The other big issue is running multiple displays at different resolutions specifically at higher resolutions.

I have all my toolbars set to small (16x16). My resolution is 2560 x 1440. I do have a 2nd monitor that is running at 1920 x 1200, but Microstation is not on it.
I have the latest drivers installed - but realize my graphics card is not Win 10 compatible - and I guess this is the first issue I've noticed. I will go out and get a new graphics card - and see how that works.
Thanks for the suggestions and insight.
Oh yeah, I tried that "QV_D3DVERSION=9" setting - and didn't notice any difference
