Hi
I note this topic has been mentioned previously over the years, yet is still a problem within MS.
It seems panning using the mouse wheel click cancels all sorts of commands including drawing lines, etc.
A real pain as this is a regular method of, well, panning round a drawing whilst working on it.
And you've guessed, I'm fairly new to MS having over 20 years' experience with the 'other' CAD package.
Are there any plans afoot to fix this issue?
Cheers, Andrew
I'm going to guess no, they haven't fixed it by now. If you simply adjust the way you migrate around the "screen" you don't need that pan operation. I can get anywhere in a fraction of a second with just the scroll button. For taking a tour around a large bunch of entities the "zoom in 1" works nice. Neither of those interrupt any command.

no, it works fine and nothing is canceled, tested both in V8i (SELECTseries 4) and CONNECT Edition Update 11. I tested it both with mouse and also as manually entered key-in.
I also do not recall any similar discussion(s), the most similar was that view dragging using data point + shift has been removed from a default MicroStation configuration.
But maybe you talk about other pan/drag command than "pan drag" key-in, that activates "hand icon"?
With regards,
Jan

When you start a view command it suspends any active command. When you Reset to escape the view command you will see the previous command active once more.
For example...

Thank you guys for your responses.
Jan, I was going to go into pantomime mode and say, "yes it does", but I've tried a couple of tests just now and it worked fine!
But there is: https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/f/microstation-forum/118036/acs-by-points-and-pan-cancelling-command from 3 years ago, so I'll let you off for not remembering!
Thanks Jon, I do need to remember the view commands.
Cheers all.
