Hi Everyone,
I'm creating some item sets, and am wondering if it's possible to update a second property definition based on the first selection?
Example:
User picks "A" .. a second attribute is updated with "1".
Thanks in Advance
Hi Paul,
Can you please explain your requirement with some examples?
I will like to try them out with our technology preview features. And, update you accordingly.
Thanks,
Mangesh
Hi Mangesh,
A simple example would be;
1. A user creates a lookup list with a value, and a description
2. The user then configures 2 item properties
3. When a user selects the first property (the value), the second property is populated with the associated description.
Additionally, it would be nice to have the ability to cascade lookups.
Eg:
1. A user selects a value for one property.
2. Based on that value, additional properties are "filtered"

We are introducing Lookup Table Expression - General Access Technology Preview feature in MicroStation Update 12. Using following steps I can achieve your requirement. Please let me know if this is matching your requirement :
2. Picklist containing Id’s
3. Item type library with expression
4. After Attach Item Type
If we change the NUMBER from the 102 to 103 then the respective data from excel will be shown.

Does that require an open connection to the Excel workbook?

This looks like it should satisfy the requirements!
If this does require and active connection to Excel, let's make sure we have a variable that points to the excel file!
Yes. We need to set a variable that points to the Excel file.
