Question

This may be simple or hard, most markup I get I normally want to check what the Working Units are set on and the Active Scale. 
 I know how to open and hit w for working or A twice to get to Active Angle or even S and get to snaps. But I was hoping to 
 Key-in something and (Settings>Design File>Working Units.

try MDL LOAD DGNSET ( FYI it came from the help menu) 
 works but I cant find any further settings to make it work, but if I used the working units once msnt remembers so next time I use MDL LOAD DGNSET the working units is already been selected and I can see the working units

wouldn't it just be 
 AS=1;MDL LOAD DGNSET

for new files set all your settings up manually in a appropriately named seed file.. 
 For existing files use the key shortcut to get to the menus and make changes as required by hand 
 otherwise it a job for vba..

 I have learned the problem I had with the Hilite 
 these are the commands and they must be in this order 
 mdl keyin calculat calc tcb->selectionHiliteOverride=1 mdl keyin calculat calc tcb->hiliteColor=2 mdl keyin calculat calc tcb->selectionHiliteColor=5
