Hi,
I have received a series of road design in Microstation and associated profiles. I need the high and Low points to carry out the drainage design. Currently, I am going to the profile each time searching for high points and low points and then going back to the road centreline to place a marker and text (manually) of these locations.
Is there a way I can get Microstation to automatically display the high and low points on the road centreline (i.e. changes in the vertical alignment - not just the single highest point and single lowest point on the profile). I've done this before in Civil3D but can't seem to figure out how to do it in Microstation.
Thanks,
Colm.

I'm not a civil engineer. From your description, and without a DGN model to examine, it's hard to provide a suggestion.

Vertical applications exist for a purpose. The purpose in this context is to display high and low points on a road centreline.

In MicroStation there may not be a way, this would be like asking if AutoCAD can do such a thing
I would look at OpenRoads Designer for your answer, this application is Civil roadway focused.

yep
As John mentions you are looking for Civil3d functionality in MicroStation - which is not available. The functionality you are looking for is in the OpenRoads product.

since you have a profile, then presumably you have access to the 3d model suface, if you also have 3d designed contours you can use one of the display attributes to produce a thematic map of the contours like an isopach...but your inroads designer can also produce this better.. but i just wanted to pipe in there that vanilla mstn can do it if the data is available..
