Hi All,
I'm trying to label a line string with elevations at each point within the string. The 'Label Element Coordinates' tool is good but labels easting northing and elevation so was wondering if there was a way to not include the easting and northing?
Thanks in advance,
Mark
YOu could create a cell that has place holder cell properties of the origin z. Do this;
Place text
Insert Field
Placeholder Cell Properties
Choose Origin
Select Coordinates Z
Set any other of the formatting you desire
Click OK
Place the Text on the screen
Create a cell containing the text.
Now place the cell it should pick up the Z of the cell. So anything you snap the cell too will give you the Z.
Let me know if this helps.

yep
In addition to John's suggestion you could also create a Text Favorite to pick up the Element Property required and place this, the following wiki's should be of help in this regard.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for getting back to me. Sorry to waste your time but i have literally just figured it out. What i did was highlight the line strings i wanted to label, click on 'Label Element Co-ordinates', open the 'Key-in' tool. Type in 'label element hidexy on', click on 'Single' and it should do it.
Thanks,

One gotcha with this is that you must pick an element. I first thought to just use a text favorite but couldn't figure out a way to get it to get the coordinate of the text I was placing. Doing it as a Cell allows you to get the location/data point from the cells placement.
Nice find, I wasn't aware of the hide options.
