Google Earth not initializing

This thread need more attention, im using OB Update 14 and i have tried this with google earth 32 and 64 bit and am having no luck, honestly if the Bentley solution is that we should download older versions or a specific version they should include a fixed link regards the problem on their site or alt, fix there application to be compatible with newer versions of google earth. 

Can we bump this post until bentley provide a link to a trialed and tested version of Google earth that works because expecting your clients to jump through hoops to have a function that should work actually work is poor product management

He Bentley you want us to take up CE then help us  not to bother with the steep learning cure, lost time reconfiguring and  getting the best out of it with the right version of GE pro, right now in my part of the world bing maps are inferior to GE pro, as to the resolution, zoom in ability and more uptodate.. so I prefer to stick with V8i because I don't have to change anything and still get the most out of GE pro and Bing maps as I have added a key to the config...

Just to add my voice to this; following the advice that only 32bit Google Earth versions work - I tried 7.3.3 (32bit), 7.3.1 (32bit), but only 7.1.8.3036 works (both v8i ss10, and CE 14).  The old installers are available here; https://support.google.com/earth/answer/168344?hl=en. Click on "Download a Google Earth Pro installer".

Bing is not a viable option for many users (imagery is older than Google Earth), and most importantly - no terrain data available for extraction. Microstation's link to Google Earth has regressed anyway - ten years ago you could extract huge swathes of high resolution terrain, but the mesh these days is very low fidelity (although I'm told it's a Google thing, not Bentley).

that's a real shame, we used to use sketch up pro to get at that high res terrain  before GE was free...I wonder if the back door is still there in sketch up pro or Google has just stopped collecting/ creating the high res terrain data?
