Stencil 2D Linestring/Chain to 3D Mesh drops to line elements?

Hi all,

I'm trying to stencil some very long linestrings/chains onto a 3d mesh and am finding the results are many individual lines. They are being draped successfully, but is there any reason why the linestrings/chains are being dropped to lines? There are so many that is not very practical.

I'm using MicroStation CE U12/OpenRoads Designer U7, but see the same behaviour in v8i.

Regards,

Mark

  • I'm having the same issue. I know the stenciled lines are supposed to come in as a mesh, but they come in as individual line strings. When I go to add width/thickness to the linestrings to export into LumenRT, the depth is applied on the wrong plane randomly along the line string. One pavement marking might be fine, but the next one will be widened along the Z plane, not the X/Y plane, rendering a pavement marking you can't see unless you rotate the view.

Have you had any success with this?
