Hello All,
I have a dwg file with hatch inside, when I open the dwg file with MS V8i in my PC, it can display correctly(from file, where is the file?). But it cannot display in some workstations(filled, but nothing shows). Our workstation/MS should be same. Can anyone tell me how to let all the workstations to show the pattern? Thanks a lot.

There could be several reasons, but I would start with View Attributes...
Check the Fill and Patterns settings on your computer and on the other computers.

Both are Same. Thanks.
Have you got the MS_DWGPATFILE variable set?
There is no such variable in all the workstations, including good and bad workstations
I have tried to add it in V8i SS4 on a bad workstation.
Before it added, no hatch patterns show and nothing in the dropdown list. The pattern definition is "Filled" and cannot change it to "From File".
After added,
1. No hatch pattern shows still.
2. The pattern definition is "Filled" still, but it can be changed to "From File". If I change pattern definition to "From File" and then I can select the patterns from the dropdown list.
3. If I select same pattern name, the pattern shows, but the pattern name won't show in the property dialog.
4. The re-selected pattern is much more dense, even the related properties are same(origin, scale, etc).
Some progress, but far away still. Thanks a lot.
Hope you get this sorted. It may end up in the pile of things that don't work well with DWG.

Hi Changsong,
I just found the problem.
Its related to the RealDWG version installed on the Rendition server.
The Servers have OpenPlant V8i 08.11.11.316. This installs RealDWG 2016 08.11.09.872.
The MicroStation on the server is 08.11.09.829. Typically, this version of MicroStation would install RealDWG 08.11.09.829... but there cannot be two version of RealDWG 2016 installed simultaneously. So the .829 version is not installed.
The problem is that MicroStation needs it's version of RealDWG to be able to see the patterns. And, as MicroStation is the default rendition engine, without the aligning version of RealDWG it can't see the patterns.
I've tested this... It seems that you cannot have MicroStation 08.11.09.829 and OpenPlant V8i 08.11.11.316 installed on the same machine and have both applications see the DWG patterns. No idea if this is applies to ALL DWG's or all DWG patterns, but its certainly the case on the 3 different test cases I now have.
I've sent an email to the PW Admins to let them sort it out.
