I do not think you use "just" Bentley View V8i, which is the name of the original version released many years ago, but maybe some newer version like Bentley View V8i (SELECTseries 4)?

I do not know OpenPlant Modeler in detail, but I assume the information are specific to OPM and are stored specifically in DGN V8 file, because the format does not know such properties (but it knows standard properties like level etc.).

What you can try:

• Ensure you use the latest Bentley View version (V8i or CE alternatively), because if properties are stored as EC data, old products maybe do not support this data format.
• Try to export your data to i-model (.d.dgn), because in this scenario, OPM is responsible to convert all properties and product specific data, that cannot be understood by other products (usually because they are stored in some specific format or generated on the fly and kept in memory) to EC format. When in file (DGN or i-model) exist EC data with relevant EC schema, generic products like MicroStation or View are able to display the data.

I also recommend to ask in OpenPlant forum, because it's OPM issue, not MicroStation or Bentley View and maybe other OPM users have discussed / solved this issue already.

Also my feeling is that recommended product to access 3D data is not Bentley View, but Navigator.
