It seems that whenever i try to use the "Insert Dimension" tool in the Miscellaneous Dimensions section, it will instead reroute the system to "Insert Vertex" tool in the Modify section. This has made it impossible to add dimensions and instead has added a number of unwanted vertices. Please help.
Maybe an example would help? Normally if you just use the insert vertex tool on a dimension it does insert a dimension so not sure what is going wrong.
Typically I would use the function to insert a new dimension on a segment as opposed to modifying an existing dimension

I see, is there any way you could dimension a line segment without any previous dimension with this function?
I would use Dimension Element in that scenario.
