Hello,
I have a microstation V8i SS3 installed on my computer and I want to install the latest Microstation CE, and I need both versions. If i install the CE, will the v8i version stay or it will be changed to CE? thanks.
You can install Connect without affecting V8i. I have both installed.

Your existing MicroStation V8i is a 32-bit app. installed to folder C:\Program Files (x86)\....
C:\Program Files (x86)\...
MicroStation CONNECT is a 64-bit app. that installs to folder C:\Program Files\....
C:\Program Files\...
Application configuration details are added to the 32-bit or 64-bit Windows Registry. MicroStation configuration files are separated to different folder structures. Neither program knows about the other.
There is a MicroStation CONNECT utility that will help you convert your existing V8 configuration to a CONNECT configuration.

Yes, it does install as a new and separate program. In fact, I'd guess most of us have a copy of v8i and Connect loaded (out of necessity).

Hello Crisanto,As Jon Summers have mentioned, both versions can be installed on the same computer without effecting each other. As Jon stated correctly, MicroStation V8i (SS3) is a 32-bit application installed in a different location then MicroStation CONNECT Edition, which is a 64-bit application
