DWG textnode wrapped

I have floorplans referenced. They are originally DWG. Many originally single line textnodes are wrapped. Looks that happens where the blanks are in the node.

In microStation/OBD/PowerDraft (recent Connect) the textnodes are highligted. In the original printout the nodes are marked yellow.

Anybody seen this behaviour?

  • There have been a few defects raised in recent versions of MicroStation CONNECT Edition which are being investigated and fixed that are related to the operation of various types of text in DWG. You might like to supply and example DWG file you are having a problem with and possibly supply the version(s) of software you are using.

  • although they are not AD-DWG: when you open the file in AD-Viewer(TrueView) the Texts are alright.

With MicroStation the texts are wrapped (resulting e.g.in overlaps of the room stamps etc.)

The depreciated LL= (linelength) would have solved this. Is there a command that does "Remove Word-Wrap" for all selected texts? For a single text in text Editor you can rightclick on the ruler for this!

  • Hi Andrew,

We are working with a lot of DWG floorplans.

The same happens with all DWGs in CE. Even after just "Save As DWG".All text nodes, when having blanks are wrapped at each blank space… Happens in OBD Update 6, MicroStation CE Update10 (10.10.00.23) and PowerDraft CE Update 12 (10.12.00.42) on different machines. Also in Bentley View Connect Edition Update 12 - Version  10.12.00.43

When opening the same file In AECOsim SS6 (08.11.09.866) or mS V8i the Texts are just fine.

So it appears to be a Display issue with CE,right? The nodes themselves seem to be unharmed. It is just the blank that is interpreted as a carrige return in Connect...

  • Hi, is there not anybody else seeing this text wrapping within dwg files?

We can not plot from within CE because all those Texts are displayed wrong in Connect Edition (R12). And I am not keen to try R13 after reading "first impressions".

  • Sorry for the delay and thanks for the DWG file to test this on my system. I can replicate the word wrap on these text nodes that you're showing in the screen capture. From what I can see it appears to be the text box placed around this text that is wrapping the text. I will check with the DWG specialists here in Bentley to see what may be causing this as I had believe this was resolved in an earlier defect. I'll get back to you ASAP.
