Hello allI switched from Bentley view V8 to the Bentley view Connect Edition v12. This version does not handle many dwg's anymore. Even older files that worked without problems with the V8 version can no longer be opened with the V12 version. Only if I create a small file with few elements, I can view it with V12. Does anyone have an idea what to do?
Thanks for help
Claus
Depends on which version of Bentley View V8 you are talking about but the CONNECT Edition is based on the same capabilities as MicroStation. It supports DWG file format from R14 to 2018.

I have no problem with Bentley View V8. This version opens all my dwg-files up to 2013. But now I installed the Connect Edition V12, which should support 2018 dwg-files.
The files, wich are created with AutoCadAdvanceSteel cannot be opened with BentleyView V12. Independly from the dwg-Version.
I copied now all elements (3D-Volume-elements) in a new Autocad2020-drawing (without AdvanceSteel) and saved it in 2018dwg-version.
This file could now be opened with BentleyView V12. Is anyone interested to get a dwg which causes problems?
If you could supply an example DWG file that is having a problem in Bentley View CONNECT Edition that would be great for the investigation. I am thinking that having it created with "AutoCad AdvanceSteel" might make a difference as to whether a plain installation of BV would be ok. You might need to install an Object Enabler for this AdvanceSteel software.
I don't think, that there is an Problem with the Object Enabler, because I exploded all AdvanceSteel-elements to AutoCad-3D-elements.
Here are to files with AutoCad2010 and AutoCad2018 versions for testing.
