Just installed this morning. Hating the raster file handling, it's worse. I just attached several, they don't display until a manipulation like level on/off, ras display is used.
Then a little text editing, once you complete a single edit text command reverts to Default Tool. Single Click set to Locked in preferences.
We're just getting started with this dog, guess I'll go back to keeping a list and filing service tickets when I have time.
Anyone else feel like an unpaid beta tester?
Also crashed once today, just shut down, no error, no nothin.
My general impression is that it feels a bit more responsive and I like the new V8i mode implementation. However I see Bentley have just posted a blog with opening times. It seems (If I read it correctly) that unless you have a massive data set then V8i is still faster. IMO Connect should be faster in all situations.

This Bentley blog discusses the DGN file opening times. I've reproduced their table and added a column that shows the performance of CONNECT compared with V8i...

Apparently, their conclusion is that we should all work with files greater than 800MB, because then we'll have a faster experience using CONNECT than with V8i! Most of us, most of the time, are working with files well below 800MB, so we're stuck with a slower experience.

And these tests were done on a pc with 64GB RAM!! I certainly don't have that much RAM and I'm guessing that a lot of other users don't too!
Their test is also performed using an Intel Xeon processor.
I have a pretty robust PC with an Intel Core i7 processor & 32gb of RAM and opening small files is definitely slower in CONNECT. The more painful part is getting to the backstage. There is significant delay clciking <File to open a new file. I have opted to start using CTRL +O because there is no real delay with that method. I am with others who open relatively small size files. Opening larger size files may be important with ORD, but for CONNECT alone it does nothing.
Microstation CONNECT - 10.17.2.61
ORD - 2021 R1 10.10.1.3
ORD 2022 R1.1 - 10.11.3.2
ORD 2022 R3 - 10.12.2.4
Microstation v8i SS 10 - 08.11.09.919
Power InRoads v8i - 08.11.09.615
ProjectWise - 10.0.3.453
I use the Quick Access Toolbar and I added close to it. That saves two trips to the backstage.

The entire purpose of being in business is to make a profit. If CE is less profitable than V8i, why try to get people to change?

Good tip. I just have not been able to use CONNECT since the major project I am working on needs to keep moving in Power InRoads SS2. I have not had time to customize CONNECT yet, not to mention we are still on CONNECT U11.
The backstage in U13 does seem much faster and the change workset dialog is much more responsive.
