I'm very glad to see that you have made Task Navigation (TN) easier to bring up. Having refined my hot-key use for the better part of a decade the thought of having to solely use the ribbon bar for all my commands gave me a nervous twitch. Hence setting MS_TASKNAVIGATION_CONFIGURATION = 1 then following the 3/4 other steps to activate it was the very first thing I looked up and ran when I installed CE. It was terrific. I was able to start playing around with the ribbon bar while still being efficiently by using TN. Happy days.
However, it now appears that you have made Task Navigation its own setting along with drawing, modelling etc. ie I can either have TN, or the ribbon, but not both. Have I overlooked something in its installation? I'm not sure why you changed it in this way but can you please let us use both at the same time? Having both is easily the best option for me because I still have my hot-keys the but the ribbon bar is much better than the V8i drop-down 'File - Edit - etc.' menus.
Thanks

I do agree with llija.
Bentley, please give us back the option to have both Task Navigation and Ribbons active at the same time. There was nothing wrong with the way it worked up to update 12.
In MicroStation Help Bentley says:
“you can now use the V8i Task Theme in MicroStation CONNECT Edition to quickly access tools as you become accustomed to the new interface. “
In my opinion switching back and forth between Tasks and Ribbons is not the way to get accustomed to the new interface and it certainly is not quick. I think, having them available at the same time is a much better way.
Regards,
Andre
The ribbon is still there, just minimised by default
Hi AndrevR,
Please go to File menu\Settings\tool boxes and add the task tool. Once anchored you should be able to have it in every workflow.

Hi Maria,
I have managed to bring in the Task Tools as you mentioned but it doesn't work with hotkeys. (eg. 3,2 - Move)
it works fine in Update 13. By default, "Use Position Mapping" is not on.
Tick the box in User Preference settings, you should be able to use it.
Hi Judy,
I have it on. The hotkeys work when it's in the Task Navigation setting, just not in the others. This is what I'm after:
Yeah,
I can reproduce that. We have filed two Defects 1031057 and 1013030
Could you use the F7 or Q keyboard shortcuts instead?
Review https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/b/microstation_blog/posts/customization-blog-series-keyboard-shortcuts
You won't get users abandoning shortcuts that many have used for years. Having them available in Connect is essential to getting people to use Connect.
As Duncan said, many users have spent years using these shortcuts. I don't know how many hours it would take to re-train myself to a different setup/layout but the term 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' comes to mind.
Hi Ilija,
keep in mind that MicroStation CONNECT's interface is based on the Ribbon not on Task menus.
MicroStation CONNECT provides other tools that helps to achieve similar results. The shortcuts you have available in v8i task theme are available via pop up dialog, this can be launched by using the space bar keyboard and you can use the F3 keyboard to get additional key tips.
Problem is that it's two separate actions. Press space bar and then click mouse and you only have a small selection (I know you can customize) on the popup whereas the old V8i shortcuts give you access to everything just from the keyboard.
Hi ilija,
Hotkeys\shortcuts not being available on the old legacy Task menu is related to Defect 1051031.
As preference\category: task navigator is being removed in Update 13 we can not turn on the dialog option as we did before. This option activates hotkeys for task bar
