Hello, I've created a 2D parametric cell with variables and put it in a cell library. When trying to place this cell the variables aren't showing up in the tool settings window?
I've checked the model properties and it shows that it is a parametric cell and has the variables:
I've also made sure that the variables have their scope set to instance, so they can be modified after placement.
If I try and place the cell in a file and then check its properties, the variables aren't listed.
I've also made sure there isn't a shared cell definition still in the file when trying to place the cell.
I think I must have missed something when creating the cell, but I don't know what. Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks,
Kevin

Ok, I think I figured out why the variables weren't showing up. The variable definition needed to be visible and not hidden. The help file made it sound like this needed to be hidden or else you would be able to see these variable dimensions in your file after you place the cell.
On a different but similar note, I got the profile worked out like I needed, but now I can't get the profile cell to extrude along a path, which is another parametric cell that consists of a parametric arc.
Profile:
Parametric arc cell, with the profile at one end of the arc (rotated to be perpendicular to the arc):
I was able to do this back in V8I with SS4, but Connect says the parametric arc cell is an invalid element for the path???
Is Connect able to do this?
thanks,

Thanks for posting your solution to the original question.

That's an interesting, but new, question unrelated to your original post. Please start a new thread.
