Hi Sir
I am Sachin Kumar. I am using Bentley Microstation V8i ( SELECT series 10). One of my friend in my organization created a (.Dgnlib ) Library file for ( Metallurgy Levels, Equipment Boxes, Multilevel Colors ) for P&IDs Drawing. He shared that file to use for everyone. But, I am not able to attach that file in my system folder. He asked me to place that file in my system at the following path
C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries)\MicroStation\mdlsys\required
Can You please help to resolve this issue. How can i attach that library file to my machine to use in Microstation work
Regards
Sachin Kumar

If your colleague wants to share a file, there's a better way. When you copy the file to your computer, what happens when your colleague makes changes to his original? What happens if another colleague makes changes to her local copy? MicroStation configuration tools can help!
MicroStation is designed to make sharing files easy. Ask your colleague to copy the file to a network server. Tell each MicroStation user to point the variable that Leonard mentions to that location. Then everyone sees the same file.

My friend who created the file can see all the levels for multilines, and symbols of the colors of metallurgy created in his machine. the same file which He created He shared with me But I am not able to see the style of multi-lines in my Computer MIcrostaiton. The file is in .DGNLIB format. Can you please how to insert /copy the location where I should have to paste it so that I can also see all this stuff in my machine? Please send the relevant snapshot of path if you can share.

Ask your CAD manager or administrator about that. It's standard MicroStation configuration with which they should be familiar. The link to MicroStation help tells you all that you need to know.

The path will be a folder on your server. Point configuration variable MS_DGNLIBLIST to that location.
MS_DGNLIBLIST
The mulitlines could be in an other separate dgnlib, and " He" has all these various dgnlibs pathed via his workspace config..
you should get your cad manager to help you create a workspace and files that are the same for all but failing that you need to copy all the relevant dgn libs to the dgn libs folder and let your workspace config find them, the later is only good if you work off line the former is when you work at work online with the server set up so files are central not on your pc ...
