Remember the old level number map. Microstation got rid of it quite awhile ago. Now that I finally upgraded to Connect...has anybody written anything so I can get it back?
Yes I have done that. My levels have a name "1" , "2" etc They don't even say 'level'. So really its all setup the way I like. Now if I could just have an MDL or something to create the 10x8 grid of circles in the Level Display box it would be back to 'normal' for this old user.
how do you keep track of what is on each level ?
Meaning - 3 weeks later you open the file and lets say levels 1,5, and 25 are on and all the rest are off and you need to see some piece or part that is turned off - how do you know what level to turn on ?

The level number map wasn't usable in a system that auto-generates the numbers. It was removed from CONNECT because of usability

yep
If I can’t remember just quickly torn them all on, highlight the pice, observe level number, turn all off, then turn on what I want. That procedure is worst case. Usually I can remember the right number because there aren’t too many. Just more than will fit in a small level display box.
Note my designs are relatively small and normally easy to see the whole file.
I understand, but I just import my level library file with names, numbers, colors etc. So I don’t really create levels, just reuse the same library.
My levels are usually based on plate thickness and sub-assembly.
