Does anyone have any experience of running Microstation (V8i or CE) on encrypted drives? We are experiencing a lot of file not recognised errors when doing so. can anyone from Bentley comment of certification for encrypted environments?
Thanks
Duncan
Hi Duncan,
I have a VeraCrypt Drive here on my Desktop, just to get some experiences.
This is my personal experience with it:As long as enough computing power is available, programs installed on the encrypted drive run almost without losses. But my computer is a development computer, when the processors are required, the programs jerk violently off the encrypted disk.Nothing seems to break, but it sometimes takes quite a long time.

Thanks Volker. Our main problem seems to be DGN file corruption rather than performance.
I am not sure, why you need to use encrypted drives. Maybe a stockroom concept is something for you.
Store the files encrypt (stockroom), but work on a copy on a normal drive, and bring it back to the stock afterwards.
It's a requirement of the project.
option: "save file not immediately" would reduce the writing :-?
