Reference goes under raster - Microstation Connect

I am having some problem with Microstation connect, my references that are in 3d are going under my raster image in my 2d file, the only solution that I have found is either put the reference over the active design file in update sequence or export the reference to 2d. The reference file are contours, so they can‘t be above the active design file, then the contours lines are above everything. I can’t spend all day exporting my references to 2d, this did not happen in Microstation Powerdraft V8i.

The raster image is in background.

  • What would the outcome be if  you went to your raster container drawing and made it 3d too and then  traced on  NON printable level boundary around the  raster and  moved this boundary to -1000 = z then reattach your raster interactive by  points to this 3d  boundary so it is now at  z=-1000?

Then when you attach your raster container drawing it should come in  underneath everything  even 2d z=0 drgs ... well that is the theory and you only have to copy and edit edit one DGN.... I'm not sure if you can just change the z for your  raster in a 3d container file...if it has a jpg it would have a jgw  or sister file also called a world file .. you might be able to edit the sister file  to make it 3d..I need to do some testing  but for now what I have proposed should work.. but  note I haven't   tested it yet .. let us know how this goes and  if there is a simpler way to send the raster  to a  z=-1000  somebody chime in on this part too.

  • I'm going to recommend that to a user in survey and see if that fixes his issue.  thanks.
