Moving to Connect Edition from V8i and trying to figure out how to make the manual leaders like in V8 where the inline portion is separate from the leader. I'm not sure how to describe so posting a screen shot.
When i right click to set on the left side it defaults to the right , with right justification.

Not sure whether this is exactly what you were asking about but if you turn off "In Line Leader" in your Dimension Style this will stop the placement of the extra portion when placing a manual note.

It's not the inline leader, like in v8 with manual setting turned on you can make the leader at 45° and place the text to the left or right just drag and right click. However in connect when do doing the same attempting to place the text to the left when mouse is hit the text goes to the right and justification stays to top right. The result i am looking for is to make leader go to the right and place text to the left but have the inline portion be attached to the text not the full leader, to make it easier for adjusting text along the leader. , Thank you for your response.

Yea see i changed those setting as needed in connect and the text will default to the side as is not set on dynamic still
I placed note with the tool settings using the "Location" set to Manual, "Start At" set to Text. Then I placed a data point with the text on the right, then (using Accudraw) I indexed to the left a small short segment like .1 units and gave a second data point, now I could place the arrow terminal in any direction with a final data point.and reset.
The trick was that small short segment that extended from the original leader line.
