The following tools was produced for MicroStation V8 XM Edition to convert the Side Bar Menu files to XML to import into a DGNLib for use in your workspaces. This is so old a concept and tool that we never produced this for any further versions of MicroStation.

The side bar menu tool would no longer be supported so we would suggest moving to current technologies with storing and configuring your menus in DGNLib files within a MicroStation workspace configuration.

It would also be suggested that you should be upgrading to a currently supported version of MicroStation or PowerDraft. The older V8i versions have discontinued support after January 1st 2020. You should either be upgrading to V8i SELECTseries 10 or CONNECT Edition.

Repeating that something is not working doesn't help. It's like visiting the doctor and saying: It hurts when I do this! To which the answer is; Don't do that!

How do you install the SBM in MicroStation V8i?
What version of PowerDraft are you using?

According to Ivo Blaauw in this thread, it's simple enough to read a SBM file and add its commands manually to MicroStation/PowerDraft's function keys. Note also that SBMs are ancient technology that have been superseded many years ago by MicroStation/PowerDraft's customisable user interface.

We are using SBM for select level and Cell in V8i. But we start using Microstation power draft now.

The SBM tool not working in power draft So I want convert SBM tool to XML file.

I have checked bentley communities query answer , but it’s not clear to me .

Please provide clear step to convert SBM file to XML.

Would you be able to clarify exactly what this issue is relating to with this Side Bar Menu?

Is this a tool supplied or produced by a 3rd party?

How is this related to the operation of this function menu or digitizer tablet?

Maybe you could include example files, screen captures, error messages etc to assist.
