Connect Edition U13.1
Exporting DWG files was working just fine last week.
I then Installed PowerDraft ((Edit)U13 (Latest Version)) to this machine.
Now when I export DWG, the REFERENCES in my source file export to files just fine, but two issues occurred.
1. DWG Export, Filter, MODELS listing only shows Description now
This was resolved by deletng Personal.UPF and restarting.
However, worse;
2. The source file will not export to DWG. The REFERENCES export just fine, but the source fails "error creating file" (as attached)
All settings are the same as the previous week (saved to DWS file, I even rebuilt the DWS with differnt options to no avail)
To resolve this, I will reinstall Microstation as I fear it is terminal.
The takeaway I am trying to convey, is Installing PowerDraft U13 (Edit) alongside Microstation U13 MAY cause similar fail.
Possibly related to a dll that gets corrupted or overwritten maybe.
There is an Update 13 version of PowerDraft available for download 10.13.00.48By default, MicroStation and PowerDraft will install side by side without any conflicts. They both have their own folder structure for the program files, data file (configuration), preference files and the DWG Data files.
I currently have PowerDraft Update 12 and MicroStation Update 13 installed on my computer and I have not experienced any conflicts in doing so.
My bad. I installed U13 PD. Will revise note above if I can.I install U12 to our users, so had this on the brain.
And yes, most files are deliberatley insulated, Windows OS used to share dlls, not sure if still does in W10.
Any one of a number of issues can cause problems. Software seems to just get more and more sensitive to small things, as it gets more complicated.Like how can I explain why my Microsoft App store does not wish to load? A layman can only supposition that time coincident events are related.
I'm picking, I probably need to rebuild my computer from scratch, which will almost certainly be the only resolution. But thanks for posting, lends credence to my machine being suspect and useful amunition for our IT support.

Before requesting a complete rebuild of your system you might consider a repair of the versions of MicroStation and PowerDraft you have installed. As Rick has suggested they should be able to be installed on the same system without any conflicts. The following Wiki may assist in performing a repair of these installations.

Cheers Andrew. I Hhave reinstalled MS and files are exporting again.
Except 1. I'll bang this through the support system if I cannot get it working.
OK. Quite extensive testing has revealed this may have been a red herring.
There appears to be something wrong with saved DWS file that impacts exporting a different file.
It seems loading a previous DWS settings file retains the previous file's MODELS and cannot be cleared. This seems to create a fault.
I'll do some more testing to confim my initial diagnosis, then log a support query.
