Few days ago already, I cannot edit the attached reference of my dgn file. dialog will not appear and will result to stopping or hanging of my microstation window. please help. thank you
This issue is most likely associated with a dialog box that has been dragged off the edge of the screen. The easiest method of retrieving the dialog box would be to locate it under the Window List in MicroStation. You can open this by keying it into the Search Ribbon option or selecting the Windows List tool from the Primary ribbon.

If the missing dialog is not listed, you may need to reset MicroStation back to the default settings. To do this key-in the following at a command prompt:
"C:\Program Files\Bentley\MicroStation CONNECT Edition\MicroStation\microstation.exe" -restoredefaults
(or whichever location has been selected for the installation of MicroStation)

This should reset everything back to default so the dialog boxes reappear.
You can open a Command Prompt either from:
> Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories
or
> Start Menu > Run...

thank you for the reply but still nothing changed,
Something else you can try is to change the resolution of your monitors to something like 600x800. If the dialog is off the screen you should be able to find it and then drag it back into the Microstation window.
If it is not there you .upf file may be corrupted. Delete the .upf and allow Microstation to create a new one.

One other option is to reset your user preferences.
Exit MicroStation, then go to your user preferences folder and remove all of the files. Restarting MicroStation will give you a clean set of preferences.
If you can't locate your user preference folder you can also create a new MicroStation shortcut on your desktop. Edit the shortcut and add the option -RestoreDefaults to the end of the target field.

Hi Maria,
Is this only happening in one specific dgn file or does it happen in all dgn files?
Which option didn't work? Did you try the reset to factory defaults for the version of MicroStation V8i that you have installed? This would be the equivalent of cleaning the UPF or User Preferences as suggested by the other users. I had provided a link to perform this in your version but you might have been confused with the CONNECT Edition line of text for this restore.
Maybe you could provide a screen capture showing exactly what is appearing on your system so we can better understanding what you are experiencing.
