Hello, Need to know, if there was a change in the DGN file format from Microstation V8i SS3 to SS10. We have a third-party dependency which in turn has dependency on ODA, that enables us to handle Dgn files. Any previously supported Dgn files will continue to work with newer versions of Microstation select series, as long as there is no structure change to the file format. So my question above pertains to where and how can i find out of format/structure changes to v8i.

No. Nor was there a change from V8i to CONNECT. Using MicroStation CONNECT, I can open DGN files created in MicroStation V8i. Using MicroStation V8i, I can open files created using MicroStation CONNECT.

Please don't use an acronym without expanding it the first time you use it. What is ODA?
Can you post here a DGN file created with MicroStation V8i SS10 that you can't read using ODA?

thanks for the reply Jon. ODA ->open design alliance is what i was referring to.
I have no SS 10 files, these are just customer queries as they plan to move up to SS10 if they are assured of backward compatibility in our product.
Is there a site/document i can check if there were format changes or not between the select series?
Generally speaking given the same major and minor of a Microstation version, are there no format changes between versions?

The last format change was in 2001, when MicroStation V8 launched. See the History of MicroStation.
You should ask your third-party if their app. can read DGN files produced by MicroStation V8i SS10. And, given that Bentley Systems are encouraging their customers to move to MicroStation CONNECT, you should also ask your third-party if their app also supports files produced by MicroStation CONNECT.
