Question about text settings

What does 80 board or 175 board means in connection with placing or editing text in micro station. This text is for highway station numbering.

Thanks in advance

George

  • It looks like a description of text size, like "Leroy 80" is a description of text size (and style).

That's not a MicroStation specific setting. That looks more like a drafting (as in old school, on the drafting table) term.

Not familiar with this but the arrow points to the stationing text  when you click on the station text what are the properties?

The properties with tell you the font name and or the text style if its got a named one.

The call out text show here  did you add it or is in in cad as shown on a construction or non print level?

Your screenshot, to me, looks like a legend.  Someone's created an example that shows required symbology for your drawing standards.  It's documentation.

For example, the top row, which points to a line having heavy weight...

    LV=36, WT=7, LC=0, CO=69
    • LV = level
    • WT = line weight
    • LC = line style
    • CO = colour

    The row that indicates text...

    • 80 Board = Font name
    • CC Justification = centre-centre text justification

So I don't think that 80 Board or 175 Board has anything to do with highways: they are the text settings to be used when creating labels.

My guess is that your screenshot shows drawing standards created many years ago.  For line level & symbology, it's better to use a level library.  For text settings it's better to use a text style library.

  • Hi and thanks everyone for replying

Yes, the screenshot is a guide for drawing standards. It is a state agency standards for highway improvement drawings.

They do have all support files available for download: cell libraries, font files, etc. And also sample files (except you can not use sample files for projects)

After reading your comments I looked into manual again and find out that I skipped the page with text info.

Board 80 is text size, and text cell shall be provided, I just need to find it.

    Thanks again everyone.

  • A CELL for stationing text ? I don't think so
