copy paste text from one file to another

Question

When I try to select/copy object in one file and paste to another it brings me OLE option instead of vector entity. How can I change it ?

Double-check that your Microstation temporary directory (defined my the MS_TMP configuration variable) is pointing to a real location. I have seen that sort of thing happen when the directory Microstation was told to use didn't actually exist.

you can also use ref attach your source file and copy selected element(s) into the active then detach the source ref file..
