I'm trying to convert a Microstation file sent by a client to AutoCAD format to make edits without losing any set formatting (e.g. layers and colors). The issue is, in Microstation different colors appear but once I convert the file to AutoCAD format the colors all appear green.
Strangely, in Microstation the layer file shows all the layers are color 0 (green), despite the drawing displaying different colors in the viewer (e.g. pink and orange).
That said, after converting to AutoCAD format, in AutoCAD the same layers all point to that same color 0 (green). So, it seems the problem is stemming from Microstation (not the conversion), but I'm lost on what to do here. Any help would be appreciated.
I've attached a portion of the drawing in question in Microstation format too.

Do you have Use Level Symbology Overrides ticked?
Your level (layer) colours are overrides not layer colours so you need to have this ticked in the export options otherwise it will use the layer settings which are all set to the same colour.
Thank you, Duncan, for your speedy and helpful reply.
That worked perfectly. The colors all mapped over properly from Microstation over to AutoCAD.
New question surfaced though: in the conversion the text "blocks" from Microstation were not maintained. In other words, the text from within "blocks" disappeared once the drawing was converted and opened in AutoCAD. Any idea why? Please see attached for a visual.

Please post a new question about 'text in cells when converting to AutoCAD'. It's a different question to the 'color issue' of this thread.

Will do; thank you, Jon. I'll keep this in mind moving forward for all future posts.
Hi Ken
Re your question about text disappearing. I think this is because they are cells that all have the same name so when they are exported they become a single AutoCAD block and therefore can't be different so Microstation is dropping the text. If you select everything and use the Drop element command that will drops the cells down to their geometry and the text will translate properly. If you want to preserve the structure you would need to create a uniquely named cell for each different text value.
Thank you, Duncan. This worked. I appreciate your help.
